A TEN-thousand-dollar donation from Central Highlands Water will allow BADAC to purchase comfortable seating, lift chairs and a barbeque at the Elders Independent Living Village.<\/p>\n
The cheque presentation was made last Friday, and it is hoped the new resources will create social connection within the village.<\/p>\n
BADAC’s CHSP HACC-PYP NDIS services manager Melissa Bray said she can already see the positive effects of the facility on community members.<\/p>\n
“What we’ve already noticed with them utilising the spaces that we have now is that they seem a lot happier, they’re socialising a lot more, and they’re just generally feeling more like themselves which is fantastic for us to see.”<\/p>\n
Central Highlands Water managing director Jeff Haydon said it is important for the utility provider to give back to local organisations through their water bottle partnership program.<\/p>\n
“CHW identified BADAC as a really important partnership opportunity two years ago and through that partnership we’ve been able to raise some funds to support a number of the key initiatives of BADAC,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We raise money through our water bottle partnership program which is really the opportunity that we get to sell a number of bottles in the community, Begonia Festival in particular is a big weekend.”<\/p>\n
Wada Warr Borella opened last month, and residents are expected move in towards the end of the year.<\/p>\n
Central Highlands Water’s partnership with BADAC ran from 2023 to 2024 and more than $24,000 was raised.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
