CENTRAL Highlands Water’s water and native animal art competition will return next year as part of the Ballarat Begonia Festival.<\/p>\n
The organisation is looking for entrants from kindergartens, schools and community groups within the Central Highlands region to create an artwork about native animals interacting with water.<\/p>\n
“The competition highlights the importance of water – the basis of life to all living creatures within our environment,” said a Central Highlands Water spokesperson.<\/p>\n
“The local native animals are great for creating a hero image on canvas and to promote the need for clean, safe waterways for these unique and highly valued animals.”<\/p>\n
Once entrants are registered, their class or group will be provided with the name of an Australian animal and a canvas.<\/p>\n
“The students, teachers and community members involved in the competition will develop an awareness of the need to support these special native animals and the vital link to water for their survival,” said the spokesperson.<\/p>\n
Entries are now open and close Wednesday 5 February 2025. The competition is limited to 24 entries.<\/p>\n
Artworks will be on display at the Begonia Festival from Saturday 8 March to Monday 10 March.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
