ONE of the region’s premier child and family support service organisations has been highlighted for its inclusivity by Diversity Council Australia.<\/p>\n
Cafs was named among the national diversity and inclusion leading body’s list of Inclusive Employers for 2024\/25.<\/p>\n
Cafs CEO Wendy Sturgess said the non-profit’s inclusive ideals is a key factor in how the team operates.<\/p>\n
“Our commitment to inclusion goes beyond just a core value \u2013 it directly influences the performance, satisfaction, and wellbeing of our people,” she said.<\/p>\n
“We are steadfast in our mission to foster a culturally safe and inclusive workplace and service environment.<\/p>\n
“We firmly believe that the unique backgrounds and perspectives of our team and service users are key to our strength and success.<\/p>\n
“Cafs is proud to be recognised as a leader in inclusion and diversity.”<\/p>\n
Before receiving the acknowledgement, the organisation participated in the Inclusive Employer Index, an annual survey aimed at gauging employees’ inclusion experiences, developed between DCA and the Diversity Atlas.<\/p>\n
Successful organisations on the Inclusive Employers list must surpass the National Index Benchmark in five out of six areas including awareness, engagement, exclusion, and inclusive team, organisational climate, and leadership.<\/p>\n
DCA CEO Lisa Annese said the list is about highlighting the organisations throughout Australia that make everyone feel welcome.<\/p>\n
“DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index is an opportunity to celebrate the companies that are driving real change and inspiring others to follow their lead,” she said.<\/p>\n
“It’s an evidence-based process that reveals the state of inclusion and diversity across participating organisations.<\/p>\n
“Recognition as an Inclusive Employer means your organisation is doing the necessary work to create a welcoming and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.”<\/p>\n
Organisations can register to participate in the 2025-2026 Inclusive Employer Index via the DCA website from March to mid-July, with the resulting survey open until 30 September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
