THIS weekend the Ballarat Community will celebrate one hundred and fifty years of Her Majesty\u2019s Theatre with a series of events.<\/p>\n

The milestone will be marked with three shows to showcase the newly renovated facility.<\/p>\n

The weekend will kick off on Friday 31 January with a comedy gala featuring Tom Ballard, Zo\u00eb Coombs Marr, and Dilruk Jayasinha.<\/p>\n

Local musicians will take over the theatre on Saturday 1 February where the entire theatre, not just the stage, will become a performance space.<\/p>\n

The day will end with a concert featuring an anthem specially written for Ballarat by local creatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe most amazing part about this show is that it\u2019s not just limited to the stage, the entire theatre is going to come alive,\u201d said City of Ballarat mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe performance of the Ballarat anthem is going to be another highlight, and I can\u2019t wait to see that when it is revealed.<\/p>\n

The celebrations will conclude on Sunday 2 February with an interactive adventure for families including clues and puzzles.<\/p>\n

The theatre is now fully accessible following the $16.3 million upgrade which concluded last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince re-opening to the public last year, Her Majesty\u2019s Theatre has been a hive of activity and it\u2019s brilliant to see people flooding through the doors once again,\u201d said Ms Hargreaves.<\/p>\n

\u201c2025 marks 150 years of Victoria\u2019s oldest and most beautiful theatre being the premier venue presenting arts and entertainment experiences to, not just Ballarat, but broader western Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n
