AMERICAN swingman Andrew Robinson is set to become a Ballarat Miner after signing with the club for the upcoming NBL1 South season.<\/p>\n
Robinson, who is 28 years old and stands at six feet, seven inches, was part of the Bendigo Braves last season.<\/p>\n
During this time, he averaged 16.7 points per game, a 50.4 per cent field goal percentage and a 39.9 per cent success rate from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n
He also contributed 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.<\/p>\n
Hailing from Takoma Park, Maryland, Robinson said he was looking forward to joining the Miners.<\/p>\n
“I’m excited to get to Ballarat and compete for a championship this season,” he said.<\/p>\n
“I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the community, meeting the fans, competing alongside my teammates, and leaving it all on the floor every game.<\/p>\n
“Thanks in advance for welcoming me in, now let’s go have a great season. Go Miners.”<\/p>\n
Robinson has played professionally in Portugal, Japan and the USA, beginning his journey at Quinnipiac University and then Coppin State University.<\/p>\n
Head coach Luke Brennan said he is keen to work with Robinson.<\/p>\n
“I’m very excited to have Andrew on board for the upcoming season,” he said.<\/p>\n
“His shooting and positional versatility will give us some exciting play on the court.<\/p>\n
