THE City of Ballarat has partnered with arts organisation Punctum to provide a regional live arts and contemporary performance residency program.<\/p>\n

Seedpod residencies will help artists create new performances that celebrate Ballarat and this year’s creatives are Izzy Roberts-Orr and Gemma Cavoli.<\/p>\n

At the end of their residency, the artists share their work and mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said the program is another example of the City of Ballarat supporting local creatives.<\/p>\n

“Ballarat continues to thrive as a hub for creative talent, and programs like Seedpod give our local artists the space to experiment, connect and shine,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We’re proud to support Izzy and Gemma as they develop bold new works that reflect the depth and diversity of our region.”<\/p>\n

This year’s partner venues are the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute and Ballarat Performing Arts Community”s Neill Street Hall.<\/p>\n

Roberts-Orr’s Medusa is a Modern Woman was performed last week and reimagined Medusa as a contemporary figure.<\/p>\n

Oubliette by Cavoli will be performed today, Friday 9 May and tomorrow, Saturday 10 May, revealing hidden stories and silenced voices.<\/p>\n
