innovation into the future.<\/p>\n<p>The centre is part of a $40 million, five-year project that aims to support Australian jobs, sustainability and product innovation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/06\/Front2_40479.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"938\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Matt Haymes inside the centre which doubles the company&#8217;s manufacturing capacity.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new facility includes state-of-the-art equipment and doubles the company&#8217;s manufacturing capacity to 22 million litres per standard working week.<\/p>\n<p>It is the largest investment into the company to date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will ensure we remain in Ballarat, and we actually remain a strong manufacturer and family-owned business in Ballarat,&#8221; CEO Rod Walton said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/06\/Haymes2_42254.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"570\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Haymes is the largest family-owned paint brand in Australia.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We bring in world technology here to create the best paint consumers can buy both in residential and commercial.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The building has 2000 square metres of solar panels and two 160-kilolitre rainwater tanks that will provide up to 80 per cent of water used to produce paint.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/06\/Haymes4_43159.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"554\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new David Haymes Centre for Excellence is the largest investment into Haymes Paint in its history.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Haymes Paint is also committed to participating in the Committee for Ballarat&#8217;s feasibility study to make the region Australia&#8217;s first 100 per cent renewable-powered city.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a third generation within the family business we understand the objective going forward that we leave the planet in a better place than when we came in within the business,&#8221; Mr Walton said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sustainability and our environmental impact is really important to us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/06\/Haymes5_44218.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The facility can produce 22 million litres of paint in a standard working week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year is the 90th year of the Ballarat-based paint manufacturer which is the largest family-owned paint brand in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Haymes said the secret to the company&#8217;s success is their family-oriented values.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The values of our business is critically important,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Honesty, trust, treating people the way you want to be treated.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/06\/Haymes3_44917.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"482\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The centre has a focus on innovation and building for the future.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As much as we are a family business, it&#8217;s not just the Haymes family, it&#8217;s the families that work in our business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As the company looks to the future, the David Haymes Centre for Excellence provides room to increase the company&#8217;s manufacturing capacity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Between my sister and my brother-in-law and my brother and I, we said we don&#8217;t want to mess it up,&#8221;
