CONTINUED roof leaks at Selkirk Stadium have forced the relocation of all remaining home games in the NBL1 South season to the Buxton Minderdome.<\/p>\n
The move will affect five home games as well as any finals matches. The Buxton Minerdome has reduced seating capacity and current members will be given priority access for tickets.<\/p>\n
The broader community is encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as tickets are expected to sell out.<\/p>\n
Basketball Ballarat CEO Nev Ivey said despite ongoing maintenance, moving to the Minerdome was the most responsible course of action for player welfare, competition integrity and the experience of patrons.<\/p>\n
“While we are naturally disappointed that we cannot host the remainder of the NBL1 season at Selkirk Stadium, the safety of players, officials, and patrons must come first,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The Buxton Minerdome is a highly respected basketball venue and will enable us to continue delivering a high-quality game-day experience for our teams and supporters.”<\/p>\n
