THE BGT Ballarat Jobs and Training Expo is returning to The Goods Shed today, Friday 25 July, with opportunities to explore careers, training, and employment pathways.<\/p>\n
It is the largest event of its kind in the region, expected to attract more than 1500 visitors.<\/p>\n
Attendees can chat with representatives from a range of industries, training providers, employers and community organisations from Ballarat and the surrounding region.<\/p>\n
“It’s a free event open to anyone looking for job vacancies, apprenticeships, traineeships, volunteering opportunities, training opportunities, seminars and workshops,” BGT Jobs and Training interim CEO Emma Hart said.<\/p>\n
“It’s a chance for visitors to come along and meet local employers, training providers and get expert career advice.”<\/p>\n
Some of the exhibitors will be the Australian Defence Force Careers, Ballarat Community Health, Barkly Hair Institute, and Federation University.<\/p>\n
New this year is the World Skills event which will showcase trades through live demonstrations and hands-on displays.<\/p>\n
“Anyone attending will come away with fresh ideas, new contacts, and opportunities to take their next step,” Ms Hart said.<\/p>\n
The event is delivered in partnership with the City of Ballarat and is sponsored by Accenture, Lateral Plains, Orora, the Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education and Workforce Australia.<\/p>\n
