BALLARAT Regional Multicultural Council (BRMC) will partner with Food is Free tomorrow to host a workshop at the Green Space, 212 Ripon Street, Ballarat.<\/p>\n
There will be a demonstration of how to start a veggie garden at home using materials on hand.<\/p>\n
“BRMC Nourish clients who receive food aid from us are invited as well as the general public,” said social support team worker Caroline Parry.<\/p>\n
“This will be one of a series of workshops in the Green Space.<\/p>\n
“We will be demonstrating how to start your own veggie garden at home using basic supplies such as buckets and Styrofoam trays, how to plant seeds and seedlings, and how to make stakes using waste materials.<\/p>\n
“We will be planting cauliflower, broccoli and Chinese cabbage in the boxes.<\/p>\n
“There will be music, food and lots of entertainment for children.”<\/p>\n
BRMC currently provides food boxes to 25 families in the region.<\/p>\n
The council was formed to provide an opportunity for people of all cultural backgrounds to come together.<\/p>\n
They promote awareness of multicultural values, the contributions and the specific needs of community groups within the region.<\/p>\n
The free workshop will be held from 11am to 2pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
