{"id":114771,"date":"2025-08-11T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-10T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=114771"},"modified":"2025-08-07T10:45:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T00:45:00","slug":"presentations-to-reveal-lost-trades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/living\/presentations-to-reveal-lost-trades\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentations to reveal lost trades"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RESEARCHERS, practitioners, creatives and people who think deeply will be at the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections this month sharing their ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Each presenter will share their work in the Pecha Kucha presentation format where they have 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide.<\/p>\n<p>The total presentation time for each speaker is six minutes and 40 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the evening&#8217;s event is &#8216;reveal&#8217;, where presenters will showcase overlooked histories and under-appreciated processes.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Rundell, who founded the Lost Trades Fair with her husband Glen, will be sharing her discoveries from London Craft Week.<\/p>\n<p>The festival brings together more than 1000 makers and Rundell said she discovered the commonalities between makers globally.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s grown over the last decade and it&#8217;s a week celebrating craftsmanship across London,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I certainly came back with my glass overflowing with inspiration, but I also came back with this renewed sense that what we do here in Australia is absolutely world class.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are sitting on a world stage as far as their level of craftsmanship goes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rundell said community members will enjoy the fast-paced presentation style.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s speedy and intriguing,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been to many of them over at the Rare Trades Centre and what I love about it is you get a range of speakers within the hour.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s get to the point, show us what inspires you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pecha Kucha will be on Friday 15 August from 6pm until 8pm.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sovereignhill.com.au\/\">Sovereign Hill<\/a> website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RESEARCHERS, practitioners, creatives and people who think deeply will be at the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections this month sharing their ideas.
