There&#8217;s a pie for that!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BALLARAT&#8217;S Best Pie is all about giving power to the pie-ple.<\/p>\n<p>Until 31 August, cast your vote for the People&#8217;s Choice Pie and go into the draw to win a luxury Ballarat escape (or staycation!) valued at over $1500.<\/p>\n<p>With 36 sweet and savoury showstoppers up for the tasting, there&#8217;s bound to be a pie with your name on it!<\/p>\n<p>Get to work on your pie-tinerary at ballaratsbestpie.com.au<\/p>\n<p>The Ballarat&#8217;s Best Pie awards ceremony was held on Saturday 2 August at Itinerant Spirits and hosted by MasterChef Australia favourite and Good Chef Bad Chef co-host Tim Bone.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/08\/ballarat-lydiardgene_60625.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"466\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lydiard General&#8217;s peach and Portuguese custard pie.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Browne Bakes&#8217; raspberry goldfields cookie pie (available at Naomi &amp; i) was crowned Ballarat&#8217;s Best Pie, along with Best Sweet Pie.<\/p>\n<p>Lydiard General&#8217;s peach and Portuguese custard pie came in second place, with the apple sty pie at Mondegreen Caf\u00e9 placing third.<\/p>\n<p>The Best Savoury Pie and Brilliantly Unexpected Pie awards went to Hotel Canberra&#8217;s Stables Caf\u00e9 and Bar for its lechon paksiw pie.<\/p>\n<p>Turret Bakehouse snapped up Best Bakery Pie for its beef rendang pie, while the Pie with Purpose award went to The Shared Table for its feral pie.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/08\/ballarat-redduck-bal_60643.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"433\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">El quacko pie at Red Duck Brewery and Distillery.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being a judge in Ballarat&#8217;s Best Pie has become one of my favourite events on Ballarat&#8217;s culinary calendar,&#8221; Bone said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The competition has gone to a whole new level this year with 36 creative and delicious pies from 36 of our favourite cafes, restaurants and bakeries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s such a great initiative to get not only Ballarat locals but visitors to the town out and about to plan their pie trail and support our local hospitality industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s fantastic to see so many people embracing it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/08\/ballarat-mrsbrowneba_60685.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"455\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mrs Browne Bakes\u2019 raspberry goldfields cookie pie available at Naomi &amp; i.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, this winter, show some pie-triotism and try a few or try them all!<\/p>\n<p>And have your say on which creation should wear the People&#8217;s Choice Pie crown!<\/p>\n<p>But be warned \u2013 Ballarat&#8217;s pies are in hot demand so to avoid disappointment, ring ahead to check availability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>\/\/SPONSORED CONTENT<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BALLARAT&#8217;S Best Pie is all about giving power to the pie-ple.
