THE young victim of a horror school bus crash on the Hamilton Highway outside Geelong yesterday (Wednesday, August 27), has been remembered for her kindness, warmth and \u201cinfectious personality\u201d.<\/p>\n

Milla Killeen, a Year 7 student at Christian College Geelong, sustained critical injuries in the crash.<\/p>\n

The 12-year-old tragically died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The bus was travelling back to Christian College yesterday with 28 school students on board when it hit a safety barrier and rolled over at about 8.20am.<\/p>\n

It is believed the bus was turning left onto the Hamilton Highway from Friend-in-Hand Road, near Stonehaven, west of Geelong, when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n

A 16-year-old boy from Inverleigh was airlifted to the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a further nine students and the 76-year-old bus driver were transported to University Hospital Geelong to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Fourteen other students were taken to hospital for observation.<\/p>\n

Christian College Geelong executive principal Mathilda Joubert said Milla was a treasured member of the school community, and her loss is deeply felt by all.<\/p>\n

\u201cMilla will be remembered for her beautiful personal qualities, her vibrancy and infectious personality. Her kindness, warmth and joy impacted all who shared her company.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a time of unimaginable loss. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Milla\u2019s family, and our college will continue to provide ongoing support.<\/p>\n

A talented basketballer, Milla was a proud member of Geelong United\u2019s Under 14 Girls squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer love for the game, her teammates, and her bright spirit will be remembered by all in our community,\u201d the club said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences go out to Milla\u2019s family, friends and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire Geelong United Basketball community stands with you in grief and support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tributes continue to roll in for Milla, the students and their families impacted by the crash from across the state, with Premier Jacinta Allan saying the government stands \u201cready to support you in every way we can\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese moments touch us all. They remind us to hold our loves ones a little tighter,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
