final score of 6.9 (45) was two points off the Devils&#8217; opening-quarter contribution, underlining how well they did to keep things tight from there on.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/09\/DSC_0558_32996.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"447\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Key forward Will Johnson savours premiership success.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But the damage had already been done, as the Devils, led by rampant former AFL players Brett Bewley and Nick Hind, ruckman Lucas Impey, Mitchell Gardiner and the elusive Mace Cousins (two goals), charged to an emotion-filled flag.<\/p>\n<p>Having headed into the premiership decider off the back of 19 straight wins, Jordan insisted he would be lying if he said he was not a relieved man after the final siren.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/09\/DSC_0231_45971.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"464\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brett Bewley hits the scoreboard early for the Devils.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve been such a good side, particularly in the back third of the year, so you are always a bit anxious when you hit grand final day with the expectations on you to perform,&#8221; I think he showed how much of an asset he was,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We played him at half-back to surprise Sunbury.
