{"id":116114,"date":"2025-09-26T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=116114"},"modified":"2025-09-24T19:32:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T09:32:27","slug":"spring-art-show-in-creswick-town-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/living\/spring-art-show-in-creswick-town-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring art show in Creswick Town Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE interior of Creswick&#8217;s historic town hall building will be transformed this weekend as it hosts the town&#8217;s annual Spring Art Show.<\/p>\n<p>Pavilion Arts and Sustainability Creswick are staging the 13th annual show which opens today (Friday 26 September) and continues on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are five categories of prizes this year, and for the first time there will be one for portraiture,&#8221; Pavilion Arts and Sustainability president Jennifer Powell said.<\/p>\n<p>Offering an opportunity to appreciate and purchase some affordable original artworks, the show will be open today, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re open to all media other than AI-generated art,&#8221; Pavilion Arts secretary Glenys Edwards said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got paintings, drawings, sculpture, woodwork, mosaic and even some fretwork, and almost all of the work is for sale.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/09\/SpringArtShowb_45427.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"907\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">On display: Pavilion Arts secretary Glynis Edwards and president Jennifer Powell with some paintings by Creswick artist David Mellows that will be among works exhibited in the Spring Art Show. Photo: EVIE LAMB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Admission to the show is free with gold coin donations being accepted at the door and any proceeds raised going to support the ongoing activities of the Pavilion Arts group.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Edwards said the show is being supported by Community Bank Creswick and District and any money raised will help Pavilion Arts run events like the annual Arts Trail, community postcards event and biennial Halloween lantern event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because we are actually a community development group we are also a repository of equipment for the community including equipment for staging events,&#8221; Ms Powell said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our aim is to bring people together to make connections and also to give everybody the chance to see the talent we have in our community.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE interior of Creswick&#8217;s historic town hall building will be transformed this weekend as it hosts the town&#8217;s annual Spring Art Show.
