BALLARAT and Grampians Community Legal Service has a new name \u2013 it is now known as Allied Justice.<\/p>\n

The new name was chosen following consultation with stakeholders, clients and community partners.<\/p>\n

“Allied Justice is a reflection of who we are and what we do every day,” CEO Narelle Laing said.<\/p>\n

“We’re here for our community, not just in the courtroom, but beyond.<\/p>\n

“In choosing a new name, we wanted to emphasis our integrated approach to support, and the outcome we seek for our clients.<\/p>\n

“At Allied Justice, we focus on the whole person, not just their legal matter. “Our dedicated team works closely with individuals and local organisations so that people feel seen, heard and supported.”<\/p>\n

Established in 1995 under its original name, Allied Justice is a ‘for purpose’ organisation offering free legal advice, information and community legal education to people who live, work or study in the Central Highlands and Wimmera regions.<\/p>\n

It now supports people across 11 local government areas, and its services include advice, casework support, duty lawyer services, and related assistance to individuals.<\/p>\n

The organisation is heavily involved in community development, legal education, capacity building and law reform.<\/p>\n

Ms Laing said the new name better reflects who the organisation’s staff are, what they do and the values they stand for.<\/p>\n

“Our work has always gone beyond the courtroom, and it continues to expand,” she said.<\/p>\n

“From free legal advice, financial counselling and community legal education, to law reform and partnerships that address the issues people face every day, we are committed to reaching even more rural and remote communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need.”<\/p>\n

The new website is at alliedjustice.org.au. Its new contact email addresses are help@alliedjustice.org.au<\/a>, legal@alliedjustice.org.au<\/a>, partnerships@alliedjustice.org.au<\/a>, and education@alliedjustice.org.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Its locations \u2013 5 Chancery Lane in Ballarat and 91a Wilson Street in Horsham \u2013 have not changed.<\/p>\n
