{"id":116233,"date":"2025-10-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=116233"},"modified":"2025-10-01T16:45:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T06:45:17","slug":"maple-mccallum-claim-top-swans-honours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/sport\/maple-mccallum-claim-top-swans-honours\/","title":{"rendered":"Maple, McCallum claim top Swans honours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOOTSCRAY VFL-listed midfielder Tristan Maple and goal attack Famke McCallum have claimed Ballarat Football Netball Club&#8217;s top individual awards for 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Maple, who played only 13 of 19 games this season for the Swans, but was routinely among their best players, was a popular winner of the senior football best and fairest.<\/p>\n<p>Fraser Perkins finished as runner-up, with Lewis Rinaldi the winner of the most consistent award.<\/p>\n<p>Wyatt Squires was awarded most improved, Paddy O&#8217;Brien named best first year player and Riley Constable won the coaches award in a year in which the Swans finished the season in sixth place, eliminated in the first week of finals by eventual runner-up Sunbury.<\/p>\n<p>In the top grade of netball, McCallum won the best and fairest ahead of versatile defender Jacinta McKenzie.<\/p>\n<p>Midcourter Brooke O&#8217;Brien was voted the players&#8217; pick and Bridget Bales won the Swannies award.<\/p>\n<p>In major club awards, Mark Allen won the clubperson of the year award, Harry Butler claimed the Paul Madden Number 19 Jumper Award and Kayla Wilson was awarded the netball Swannie Spirit Award.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/10\/Famke_18165.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"315\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Famke McCallum, in action against East Point, has won Ballarat&#8217;s A-grade netball best and fairest for 2025.
