THE region’s premier employment event for the visitor economy is back, and it’s bigger than ever.<\/p>\n

The Hospitality and Tourism Jobs Expo returns on Monday, October 13, from 11am to 2pm at The Gordon’s city campus, bringing together job seekers, employers and training providers, with a special appearance by celebrity chef Adrian Richardson.<\/p>\n

This free community event is a key initiative to strengthen the local workforce, promote career pathways and address seasonal labour shortages ahead of the busy summer period.<\/p>\n

Adrian Richardson, beloved TV personality from Good Chef Bad Chef and Boys Weekend, and owner-chef of Melbourne’s acclaimed La Luna Bistro and Bouvier Bar, will headline the expo with a live cooking demonstration celebrating fresh, honest, flavour-packed food.<\/p>\n

“I’m excited to be part of the expo,” said Mr Richardson. “It’s a privilege to share what I’ve learned \u2014 the good days, the tough ones \u2014 and hopefully inspire people to chase what they love.<\/p>\n

“If I can help someone find their place in this industry, give them a spark, that means a lot. I believe hospitality shapes communities, brings people together, and creates memories.”<\/p>\n

Alongside Richardson’s headline appearance, attendees can meet local employers that are actively recruiting, participate in informal interviews, explore study and training opportunities with The Gordon, get resume support from the Skills and Jobs Centre, and enjoy campus tours, tastings from The Gordon’s Culinary School and live music.<\/p>\n

Tracy Carter, executive director of Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine, said Adrian’s involvement brings a valuable spotlight to the region’s hospitality industry.<\/p>\n

“We’re thrilled to welcome Adrian as our guest chef. He already champions our region’s produce, as seen in his Maestro menu. His demonstration will offer a rare insight into professional cooking and will no doubt inspire the next generation to pursue rewarding careers in the visitor economy.”<\/p>\n

Carley Brennan, director of engagement and partnerships at The Gordon, added: “This expo is more than just finding a job \u2014 It’s about opening doors and showing people what’s possible.<\/p>\n

“When students and job seekers connect directly with chefs, employers, and training providers, it brings career pathways to life in a really tangible way. That’s what makes this event so powerful.”<\/p>\n

The expo is a collaborative initiative presented by Workforce Australia Barwon Local Jobs, Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine, The Gordon, and Skilling the Bay.<\/p>\n
