While Kingman ($2.20) had really only had the one suspect run at Bendigo, Luke (McCarthy) was pretty adamant travel conditions and the fires that week had the horse a little behind in preparation, but he smashed the track record on Saturday night.

“It will be interesting to see how Leap To Fame can turn the tables.

“Over a long period of time he has arguably been Australia and New Zealand’s best horse.

“He’s just gone over $5 million in prize money, which is completely unheard of for a pacer, but Kingman does seem to have the wood on him at the moment.

“They went a 1:53.7 (mile rate) over 2690m at Shepparton, which is phenomenal.

“The track here is in good order, so come Saturday night and with the quality of the horse we will have here on track, our record is under threat.”

Keayang Zahara will be chasing her 22nd win in 23 starts in Saturday night’s Group 2 Ballarat Trotters Cup.
