THE Ballarat Foundation’s community programs have been handed a $10,000 leg-up from local stable Henry Dwyer Racing.<\/p>\n
Dwyer, the trainer of three-time international Group 1 Asfoora, and his team have forged a formidable reputation over the years for supporting not-for-profits and charity causes, including through its weekly charity bets via online betting agency Swiftbet.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Foundation is the latest beneficiary of that generosity and community spirit.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1983, the foundation runs events, activities and appeals to raise funds to directly impact people in the community doing it tough. That funding is then allocated through various grant opportunities.<\/p>\n
Ballarat Foundation CEO Andrew Eales thanked Henry Dwyer Racing for its support.<\/p>\n
“This contribution will help strengthen programs such as the L2P Program, giving young people the opportunity to gain their licence and access education and employment, as well as supporting local grants and community initiatives that build inclusion and wellbeing across Ballarat,” he said.<\/p>\n
Another successful year for the L2P program in 2025 resulted in 80 per cent of graduates gaining employment as a result of achieving their licence and 100 per cent feeling their mentor helped them make better life decisions.<\/p>\n
Henry Dwyer Racing manager Josh Miller said the team was proud to support the Ballarat Foundation.<\/p>\n
“This wonderful organisation has been supporting those in need in Ballarat and surrounding regions for decades and we’re privileged to be able to contribute to their great work,” he said.<\/p>\n
“A big thank you to our Charity Bet partners Swiftbet whose generosity stretches beyond the racing industry and rehoming our retired racehorses.”<\/p>\n
The donation comes two months after the Ballarat Foundation distributed $100,000 to local partner charities from its 2025 Christmas Appeal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
