Photo: Evie Lamb.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It can be deeply stressful and intimidating so the Court Networkers are a godsend,&#8221; said Victoria Law Foundation executive director Lynne Haultain.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteer Court Networker of 21 years, retired palliative care nurse Jeanette, encouraged anyone interested in joining their team to identify their area of interest, visit the Ballarat court complex and sit through some hearings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People are very grateful for the support you give them,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is interesting, but the information you get from people, you [need to] let go&#8230; There&#8217;s a lot of sadness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2026\/05\/21.5LawcourtsVolunte_39717.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"1812\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Some of Ballarat&#8217;s Court Network volunteers Jeanette, Marie, Cheryl, Patricia and Alan, with Court Network Co-ordinator Tess.
