“The farmers bring their biggest potato, so we have a weigh-in, and everyone is also welcome to bring a cooked hot or cold spud dish which get judged by our guest judges on the night and then everyone eats those for their dinner,” Tippett said.<\/p>\n
There are prizes up for grabs for the winning cooks while there’s a trophy on offer for the owner of the biggest spud.<\/p>\n
“It’s a lot of fun. The official weigh-in for the big spud starts at 7pm and entries for cooked dishes need to be in by 6.30pm to be judged,” Tippett said.<\/p>\n
There is also live music by the Red Rock Band, a raffle drawn on the night and a kids’ activities table complete with face painter.<\/p>\n
“A lot of local businesses donate to our raffle so we have some great raffle prizes,” Tippett said.<\/p>\n
Event entry cost includes dinner, live music and activities plus the satisfaction of helping the committee get closer to realising their exterior refurbishment vision.<\/p>\n
