“Because we are down a few players, I played Josh at centre-half-back on (Joel) Edwards.<\/p>\n
“He was very undersized, but Josh is such a competitor, he just did a hell of a job.”<\/p>\n
Edwards still managed three goals, with he and Ash Munari (three) accounting for two-thirds of the Burra’s goals.<\/p>\n
With Finn Russell back at the GWV Rebels and David Brinker-Ritchie still sidelined, the Roosters’ ‘everywhere man’ this season, Seb Collins, competed well in the ruck.<\/p>\n
“His work on the ground is probably his main strength … his tackling and pressure and his hands in tight are really good,” Proctor said.<\/p>\n
“But I thought he had a super game.<\/p>\n
“He has some great versatility for the team and is a very important player for us.”<\/p>\n
Proctor declared young midfielder Oscar Stone’s game as probably his best at senior level in black and white.<\/p>\n
“Matching up against some of the best mids in the comp in Bambury and Henderson, he did a really good job,” he said.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Tom Bromley-Lynch shone in his 100th game and chimed in with an important late goal to douse the Burra’s hopes, while Taj Bowman further underlined his growing importance.<\/p>\n
In more good news, Proctor is confident of ruckman Brinker-Ritchie, Isaac Carey and Jamie Quick making returns following this weekend’s break against Bacchus Marsh.<\/p>\n
That list of potential returnees also includes Sam Glover.<\/p>\n
“I’m really proud of all of the boys. I thought the last few weeks since the Darley game would be our biggest test and to come out and win Darley and to win Sebas is huge,” Proctor said.<\/p>\n
“It really sets us up.”<\/p>\n
Bambury, Jack Buckley, Ashley Munari, Luke Phillips, playing coach Tony Lockyer and Jacob Wilkinson led the charge for the Burra, who despite fading late never stopped challenging.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere on Saturday, Biggie Nyuon booted nine goals and Tristan Maple starred as Ballarat flexed its muscles in a 106-point win over Bacchus Marsh at Maddingley Park.<\/p>\n
The top-of-the-ladder Swans got further big contributions from Brad Crouch, Fraser Perkins and the dependable Riley Constable in arguably their best win of the season.<\/p>\n
Sam Griffiths, Tyson Shea, Luke Goetz and Jack Kovacevic toiled hard for the Cobras, who dropped to seventh following wins to Melton and Sunbury over East Point and Lake Wendouree.<\/p>\n
At MacPherson Park, the Kangaroos were within a goal of Melton at three-quarter-time, but a five-goal-to-two final quarter saw the Bloods take the win by 26 points.<\/p>\n
Braeden Kight and Jacob Brown kicked four goals apiece for their respective sides.<\/p>\n
Joe Dodd, Deng Lual, Mickitja Rotumah-Onus, Liam Canny, Joseph McGuane and Cooper Glenwright-McGuane were the standouts for East Point.<\/p>\n
A fortnight after upsetting Melton, Redan almost played the role of giant-killers again, beaten by a goal by Darley at City Oval.<\/p>\n
Another brave Lions effort was led by Cooper Craig-Peters (back from VFL duties), Brody Pope, Rory Gunsser and Will Madden.<\/p>\n
