Citizen of the Year<\/a>.<\/p>\n“People across Eureka are working harder than ever, yet they’re paying more for electricity, more in taxes and more at the checkout, while getting less from their government,” she said.<\/p>\n
Muir said residents deserved better roads, reliable health services, safer neighbourhoods and a government that listened.<\/p>\n
Muir said she understood the importance of standing up for people when governments did not listen.<\/p>\n
“I’ve spent years fighting alongside local residents to protect our communities and make sure regional voices are heard,\u201d she said. \u201cNow I’m putting my hand up because Eureka deserves a strong local representative who will always stand up for our community.”<\/p>\n
Muir said she would advocate for safer towns and cities, better local infrastructure, lower household costs and a fair deal for regional Victoria.<\/p>\n
