NOVEMBER will see Ballarat host the second incarnation of Frolic Festival, a queer arts and culture festival.<\/p>\n
The not-for-profit event runs from Thursday, 8 November until Wednesday, 14 November and is coordinated by a team of locals who with a program designed to highlight the diversity of the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this year\u2019s festival we\u2019re building on the wonderful success we had last year by offering a wider range of events for everyone,\u201d said Festival Co-Director Benjamin Ashe.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you want to indulge in the arts, kick up your heels, or spend your festival days meeting new people while doing local history or garden tours, you won\u2019t be disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Organisers said Frolic is an inclusive event that the whole community is welcome to attend.<\/p>\n
The program includes The Frolic Art Show which highlights the work of local LGBTIQA+ artists and is set for The Old Sheriff\u2019s Office on Camp Street. Organisers are also taking submissions for the exhibition.<\/p>\n
Other events include an under the sea themed ball on Saturday, 10 November, a picnic day on Sunday, 11 November as well as garden tours, a trivia night and history walks.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrolic Festival is a key regional event not to be missed and we expect people from across the state to attend,\u201d said Festival Co-Director Melissa Whitaker. \u201cOur local region is a fantastic supportive community and we\u2019re proud to again showcase to locals and visitors the culture and diversity that Ballarat has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n
