MELBOURNE born entertainer Silvie Paladino will perform two concerts at Ballarat\u2019s Christ The King Anglican Cathedral on Sunday, 17 November.<\/p>\n
Included in the concert\u2019s repertoire will be On My Own from Les Mis\u00e9rables, a song Paladino is very familiar with.<\/p>\n
As an 18-year-old in her first theatrical role playing Eponine in Les Mis\u00e9rables in the Australasian tour of and later in London\u2019s West End she performed the song nightly.<\/p>\n
Paladino however, will not be on her own for the Cathedral concert as pianist David Cameron will be her accompanist.<\/p>\n
As her vocal range crosses many musical genres from jazz and\u00a0contemporary to musical theatre, the program will include a variety of material chosen from hit shows she has starred in \u2013 Miss Saigon, Mamamia and Cats \u2013 to songs in Italian reflecting heritage and songs written by American lyricist Eva Cassidy.<\/p>\n
While her career has centred on hitting the high notes and treading the boards Paladino said she has discovered a passion for ministry welcoming the opportunity to sing with the Salvation Army Band.<\/p>\n
Paladino takes delight in marrying her faith with her music recording with the Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band songs as When You Believe, I Give You My Heart and O Holy Night.<\/p>\n
She has also featured at many special events such as the world-wide telecast of the Rugby League Grand Final, the Australian Football League Grand Final, Boxing Day Cricket Test and a concert in Beijing, as part of the 2008 Olympics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
