Eureka has thrown down a spirited challenge to the undefeated Brown Hill in round four of Ballarat netball\u2019s premier competition The Athlete\u2019s Foot Cup.<\/p>\n
Led by reliable goaling combination Lauren Jew and Maddy Selman, Eureka jumped out to a six goal lead by quarter time.<\/p>\n
Fielding its strongest combination of the season so far, Brown Hill was spurred into action.<\/p>\n
Ruby Parry went to goal attack in the second quarter and turned the game on its head.<\/p>\n
She helped turn the six goal deficit into a six goal lead by half time.<\/p>\n
That allowed coach Annie McCartin to put her dynamic young goalers together in the second half, and Poppy Douglass and Brianna Gregory rewarded the faith.<\/p>\n
Brown Hill finished strongly to claim the win 66 goals to 50.<\/p>\n
Eureka coach Jenni Nicholls was left to lament the fact her team again gave up a winning position.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe haven\u2019t put together a four-quarter effort yet this season,\u201d Nicholls said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut we\u2019re improving each week and that four-quarter game isn\u2019t far away.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the night\u2019s other game, a noticeably stronger Dela Oscar\u2019s unit beat an under-strength Wendouree.<\/p>\n
Wendouree goalers Shiane Milera and Izzy Rustman were both on loan from the club\u2019s Laffey Shield team, and they played brilliantly.<\/p>\n
But they were starved for supply by the Dela Oscar\u2019s mid court, which was boosted by the return from injury of Kathryn O\u2019Dwyer.<\/p>\n
Eleanor Costello and Georgia Cann helped Dela take control of the game in a powerful third quarter.<\/p>\n
Their team won the game 68 goals to 44.<\/p>\n
