BUNINYONG Soccer Club will finally have a home ground if the Liberal Nationals are elected.<\/p>\n
Liberal candidate for Buninyong Andrew Kilmartin announced a Coalition government will invest $1.9 million upgrading Buninyong\u2019s Royal Park Reserve last week.<\/p>\n
Two new soccer ovals worth $1.5 million will be created at the Reserve with the remaining $400,000 used to construct an additional netball court for the Buninyong Football Netball Club.<\/p>\n
Buninyong Soccer Club president Sue Mroczkowski said her club, founded 10 years ago, does not have a permanent home ground.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very excited that we will have a permanent place to get really established as a club and really bring soccer into Buninyong so residents can come and watch,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe started with 30 children we are now up over 160 with teams from seniors right down to under 7s and a girls\u2019 team.\u201d
\nLiberal member for Western Victoria Josh Morris said \u201cWe are keen to see grass roots sports get the funding they need.\u201d<\/p>\n
Buninyong Football Netball Club president Philip Wilson said the promise of an additional netball court is fantastic.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got seven netball teams at our club and we\u2019ve got one netball court,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraining is limited because seven teams into five days doesn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n
Little Athletics facilities and kids change rooms are also included in the upgrade funding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
