SOME people pay a lot for a haircut, but Keith Bunney has raised over $1000 just by getting one.<\/p>\n
Mr Bunney raised the money by shaving his much-loved moustache, along with his head at the X on Albert in Sebastopol recently<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also president of the pub\u2019s social club and the money he raised will go into a larger pot of about $5000 generated throughout the year for the children\u2019s ward at the Ballarat Hospital.<\/p>\n
On the head shave Mr Bunney said, \u201cI started it last year and I was looking at ways to raise money, I raised $600, I was hoping for $300. This year I decided to make it an annual thing and raised $1035.\u201d<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t just the X on Albert getting into the spirit with the Red Lion Hotel and Robin Hood Hotel both holding raffles in support of the shave, and the local Coles contributing to the overall fundraising.<\/p>\n
Publican John Camilleri said the support from the other bars was great.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s all for one cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
Both Mr Bunney and Mr Camilleri said the desire to help the children\u2019s ward at the Ballarat Hospital came from their personal experiences.<\/p>\n
Mr Camilleri also said it was because the hospital was a local facility.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re very passionate about the children\u2019s ward, so we do everything all year long for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe found the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital got a lot of money, so we decided to do it for our local kids.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
