BALLARAT\u2019S water resources are secure as the area prepares for an anticipated \u201cdrier and hotter summer,\u201d according to Central Highlands Water\u2019s Managing Director, Paul O\u2019Donohue.<\/p>\n
\u201cDespite below average rainfall over the past 12 months in our region, our water resources remain in a good position,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Having produced their annual water outlook this month, CHW has referred to updates from the Bureau of Meteorology.<\/p>\n
The region\u2019s supply systems, impacts of climate change, seasonal outlooks and population have been actively assessed.<\/p>\n
\u201cA secure and reliable water supply is fundamental to the health and wellbeing of our communities,\u201d Mr O\u2019Donohue said.<\/p>\n
CHW covers 9,275 square kilometres across Ballarat, Central Goldfields, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Pyrenees, Northern Grampians, Moorabool and Corangamite, managing 15 water supply systems.<\/p>\n
