PACING and harness racing events are heating up at the Ballarat and District Trotting Club this January with another big night to mark in the calendar.<\/p>\n
First up on the card is The PETstock Ballarat Pacing Cup. To be held on Saturday, 19 January, the Group 1 feature race has a prize pool of $100,000 and will showcase some of the region\u2019s top-level pacers including Inter Dominion place getters Cruz Bromac and Spankem.<\/p>\n
Yet like all events at the Ballarat Trotting Club, there\u2019s just as much action off the track as on it.<\/p>\n
There are three tiers of fine dining available with a package priced to suit everyone while activity highlights include Elysium Day Spa Fashions on the Field, a tug-o-war competition and halftime show featuring the Starstruck Vaulting Team.<\/p>\n
Vaulting is a recognised equestrian discipline that spectacularly combines horse handling skills with gymnastics.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year\u2019s Pacing Cup offers a little something for everyone,\u201d said Belinda Eden, the trotting club\u2019s business development and marketing manager.<\/p>\n
\u201cFashions on the field is open to kids and ladies, there\u2019s also free kids\u2019 activities, a tug-of-war and something not everyone has seen before, vaulting.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great night out for the whole family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gates open for the Ballarat Pacing Cup at 5pm.<\/p>\n
General Entry is $15 for adults, $10 concession and under 18s are free when accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n
