MORE money has been made available by the State Government to help communities deal with the effects of climate change.<\/p>\n
An extra $1 million has been tipped into the Community Climate Change Adaptation Grants program, also known as 3CA.<\/p>\n
Wendouree MP Juliana Addison said the grants range between $25,000 and $75,000 and are for initiatives that go towards the ability of communities to cope with climate change.<\/p>\n
The projects must include involvement of municipal government, Aboriginal owned corporations, community groups or not-for-profits.<\/p>\n
Ms Addison said 3CA is about supporting project types with a spread of investment across the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Community Climate Change Adaptation Grants program is about backing local ideas and supporting resilient communities like Ballarat as we combat climate change,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is great work being done across the Ballarat region to prepare for the impacts of climate change and this grants program will ensure the good work continues into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Funding is available for two project categories. One that builds \u201cadaptive capacity\u201d and another that delivers \u201ctangible actions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The grants are being delivered under the State Government\u2019s Supporting our Regions to Adapt program and close on March 31st, 2019.<\/p>\n
