SPORTING clubs are being encouraged by the Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison to take advantage of current VicHealth grants.<\/p>\n
The Active Club grants could provide up to $10,000 in funding to community sports groups so they can create more opportunities for Ballarat people to get moving and improve their health.<\/p>\n
Applicants can indicate their interest in an extra $2,000 to support and champion sportswomen in their community in line with the This Girl Can campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying sport is a great way to boost physical and mental health,\u201d Ms Addison said. \u201cThis is about making grassroots sports in Ballarat more accessible, so everyone can get involved in the sports they love.<\/p>\n
\u201cI urge local sporting groups to take the opportunity and have a go at getting these funds to help more people get moving,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
