BRING a picnic blanket and discover all the Pyrenees region has to offer, when the Unearthed Wine and Food Festival comes to the shady Avoca Riverflats on Saturday, 6 April.<\/p>\n
Between 11am and 5pm, festival goers can enjoy wine tastings, purchases and an auction, masterclasses from Pyrenees wine makers, local food and produce, and free children\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n
A people\u2019s choice award on the day will identify the favourite Cabernet Sauvignon of attendees, and the wine auction provides an opportunity for punters to secure rare releases and boxed collections from the cellars of makers.<\/p>\n
Award-winning Pyrenees wineries will be represented including Sally\u2019s Paddock, Taltarni, Dalwhinnie, Blue Pyrenees, Summerfield and Dog Rock, as well as smaller makers, Grape Farm Winery, Pyren and Peerick.<\/p>\n
But the drinks don\u2019t stop with wine, as Mrs Baker\u2019s Still House will also have their botanically crafted spirits on site.<\/p>\n
A larger range of local mobile food options will be available in comparison to last year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n
Surrounding regional producers will show their harvests and artisanal creations.<\/p>\n
A festival highlight will be the live music, with a range of musicians planned to entertain and delight attendees.<\/p>\n
General admission is currently $22 for adults, plus booking fee. Children enter with a gold coin donation.<\/p>\n
