TWIN Hearts Foundation is hosting a trivia afternoon at the North Ballarat Sports Club on Sunday, 7 April.<\/p>\n
Beginning at 1pm, the event will test brains, serve afternoon tea and raise funds for WRISC Family Violence Support and Kilimanjaro Women Information Exchange and Community Organization in Tanzania.<\/p>\n
Kelly-Louise Austin, President and Founder of the Twin Hearts Foundation said she was born and bred in Ballarat and deeply values giving back.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very passionate about my town and my community and I love to help the local small organisations and causes that perhaps don\u2019t get the funding, recognition or help that other large organisations get,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor each local cause or charity that we raise funds for, we also match with a sister charity in Tanzania to donate an equal portion of the raised funds.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have spent time working and living in Kenya and Tanzania, and I am extremely passionate about helping to break the poverty cycle for women and children around the world. Twin Hearts is my way of doing so.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the past, the foundation has supported First Night Care Packs, the Yuille Park Young Mums Program, Wendouree 1st Scouts, Pamoja, Investours Dar es Salaam and Girls not Brides.<\/p>\n
They also organised a candlelit vigil following the death of comic, Eurydice Dixon.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have so many other causes we are so excited to support, as well as launching a scholarship program in late 2019 and hosting a volunteer trip to Zanzibar in 2020,\u201d Ms Austin said.<\/p>\n
