THE 10,000 drivers travelling along the Western Freeway through Pykes Creek each day will soon experience a safer and smoother journey.<\/p>\n

About 540 tonnes of fine crushed glass is being mixed with traditional road materials to repair 2.4 kms of the Ballaratbound thoroughfare.<\/p>\n

Member for Buninyong, Michaela Settle said it\u2019s a win-win.<\/p>\n

\u201cProjects like this are improving our roads while supporting a more sustainable future by using recycled materials,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The road is one of Victoria\u2019s busiest transport and freight passages. Reduced driving speeds are in place until completion, expected in April.<\/p>\n
