BALLARAT Steiner School celebrated the coming of Autumn with a Harvest Festival.<\/p>\n
Pupils from Grades 1 to 6 brought seasonal vegetables such as pumpkins, potatoes, corn, onions and carrots to the school to create a harvest display.<\/p>\n
The students showcased their poetry, singing, acting and dancing talents performing in front of an audience of family and friends during the day.<\/p>\n
In celebrating the season, the school reinforced the connection of humanity with the natural world around it.<\/p>\n
Produce in the harvest display was donated by the school to the Ballarat Soup Bus.<\/p>\n
Murray Hassell, a year six student at the school, also collected two boxes of nonperishable items from the school community to donate to the Soup Bus.<\/p>\n
Run by the OnTrack Foundation, the Soup Bus provides an after-dark meal service to Ballarat\u2019s homeless and less fortunate and the foundation provides educational scholarships to young people in the Ballarat area.<\/p>\n
Donations for the Soup Bus are accepted each Saturday at 10.30am behind the Ballarat East Men\u2019s Shed, located on the corner of Fussell and Eureka streets, Ballarat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
