Now you can take your pre-loved premium designer garments to NANCYMAC who will sell the garments on your behalf while providing work experience opportunities for people with disability.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat pop-up retail shop, an initiative of McCallum Disability Services, will be open to customers in September.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, McCallum are on the hunt for the best labels to stock in the store.<\/p>\n
\u201cSocial media marketplaces are flooded with people trying to sell their clothing items online,\u201d Matt Vallance, McCallum\u2019s Business Development and Marketing Manager said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to help people by creating a store that will showcase their items, and sell them on their behalf,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s beneficial for the seller of the garment, beneficial for McCallum\u2019s supported employees and beneficial for the consumer as they can browse and try on garments in a safe store environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
The selling process is as easy as uploading an image of your garment to the NANCYMAC website.<\/p>\n
If it meets their criteria drop it into the store for sale and collect 80 per cent of the agreed sale price once it\u2019s sold, the remaining 20 per cent covers the overhead expenses.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really exciting seeing our employees take ownership of this project,\u201d Mr Vallance said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re learning so many skills along the way such as brand creation, lease acquisition, customer service and point of sale training.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany of us take these opportunities for granted, but to many people it\u2019s a life changing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
