ALFREDTON Rotary Club\u2019s annual community Halloween event will be bigger and more ghoulish than before.<\/p>\n
This year will be the fourth run, and will involve Rotary Club members, the community, students and 1000 lolly bags.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially, members noticed kids were trick-or-treating, and thought we might provide a safe environment for them to get into the fun without wandering the streets alone,\u201d said Alfredton Rotary club member Deb Robertson.<\/p>\n
A \u201cbusload\u201d of Ballarat Grammar boarding students will help run the arts and crafts stations at the family-friendly event.<\/p>\n
“I think the older kids still like to go trick or treating, if they come to this and then go off, they\u2019d get a double barrel! We\u2019re more about safety for younger ones,” Ms Robertson said.<\/p>\n
“[It\u2019s] fun, an opportunity to get out and met other people from the wider community, and it’s a free fun activity for kids.\u201d<\/p>\n
There will be biscuit decorating, drawing faces on balloons, making mummies, handball and basketball games, corner toss, and more.<\/p>\n
Kids in Halloween dress-up will get a free sausage from the sizzle.<\/p>\n
The free event will haunt the neighbourhood on Thursday, 31 October, from 5 to 7pm at the Alfredton Recreation Reserve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
