The Women’s Team<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

COMPETITORS from Ballarat have returned from the Australian Rope Quoits Council\u2019s championships with a swag of titles.<\/p>\n

Held in Broken Hill early in October, the city was represented by A Grade and women\u2019s teams and nine singles entries in six of the seven divisions.<\/p>\n

Sue Taylor won the women\u2019s title for the 17th consecutive time, throwing the highest break in division of 157.<\/p>\n

In the open division two Ballarat two players went head-to-head in the grand final with Peter O\u2019Donnell taking the prize and last year\u2019s winner, Daniel Hopkinson, runner up. Hopkinson had the highest break of 348 and has won the junior event 6 times and open in 2017 and 2018.<\/p>\n

In the intermediate men\u2019s section Ballarat had three entries including Darren Bowman, Kirk Walker and Troy White. Bowman won again, for the seventh time, while Walker hooked second.<\/p>\n

The Intermediate women was won by Emma Walker and had the highest break of 35. Samantha Harbridge also represented in this division.<\/p>\n

Veteran entry this year in Barry Bowman was unable to retain his runner up from last year but will be sure to come back with a vengeance next year.<\/p>\n

In the teams event there were three divisions being A Grade, B Grade and women. Ballarat won both the A Grade and Ladies divisions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
