BALLARAT Community Health has opened a new clinic in Wendouree, aiming to promote health and wellbeing not only locally, but also to the wider Ballarat community.<\/p>\n

The health centre, which opened on Monday, 13 January, offers both general practitioner and allied health services including podiatry, counselling and dietetics.<\/p>\n

The facility includes 11 consulting rooms, with two GPs, a sexual health nurse, exercise physiology, diabetes education and there\u2019s still more services to be added.<\/p>\n

Ballarat Community Health CEO Sean Duffy said one of the most important aspects of the clinic is that it does not discriminate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that there are certain members of our community that have traditionally found it difficult to access services, or they don\u2019t feel comfortable accessing services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese amenities are welcoming, accessible, safe and we invite people who have particular needs to come to our services and see what we can do to support them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Situated at 1042 Howitt Street, the site\u2019s location means that the medical centre is reachable via bus and train, to cater to people who may rely on public transport.<\/p>\n

Marketing and communications manager at BCH, Lauren Wall, said the clinic is not only beautiful and inviting, but also easily accessible for all people.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can book online at any time to see a GP, when you come in you can easily check-in through a screen and we really encourage people to come check out this state-of-the-art facility,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
