SURVIVORS and people affected by cancer are coming together for a weekend of unity and camping to help raise money for the Andrew Love Cancer Centre of Geelong.<\/p>\n

Camp4Cancer was founded in 2015 by former professional rugby player Ben Roarty and has since raised more than $170,000 for vital cancer research.<\/p>\n

This year marks the formation of a new committee organising a separate event and the first time that the funds will be donated to the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.<\/p>\n

Event coordinator Christine Blackley said the campout is important for bringing people together, while also raising money for a good cause.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reality is that anyone that lives in the Geelong region, at some point in your life, you will be walking through the Andrew Love Centre\u2019s doors for yourself, or you\u2019ll be supporting a family member or friend,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Located in Bannockburn, the event will commence at 2pm on Friday, 27 March and conclude at 12pm on Sunday, 29 March.<\/p>\n

Patrons are invited to stay for the entire weekend in their own accommodation such as tent, caravan or swag. Day passes are also available for Saturday, 28 March.<\/p>\n

The outdoor event will feature family friendly entertainment such as a jumping castle and animal nursery, as well as music performed by live bands, school groups and a DJ.<\/p>\n

A range of market stalls and auctions will be present over the weekend, with $10,000 worth of Darche outdoor gear to be raffled.<\/p>\n
