WITH school holidays brought forward and visits to parks and playgrounds banned, some families might be wondering how to spend their time at home.<\/p>\n

The Ballarat Stamp Club has the answer, offering free packages of stamps for children and parents to start their own collection.<\/p>\n

With over 200 stamps inside each unique parcel, there are endless possibilities of fun to be had.<\/p>\n

President Peter Morey said hobbies like stamp collecting are great for bringing people together.<\/p>\n

\u201cKids and parents will realise that you can have quite a lot of fun with these stamps, especially when it comes to trading one stamp for two others and things like that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Of course, the stamps don\u2019t have to be collected and stored away, as the club urges parents and children to use the stamps for their own amusement.<\/p>\n

Ideas range from decorating bookmarks and pictures with stamps, sorting the stamps by the animal, country or person featured, or researching the country that the stamp originated from.<\/p>\n

Mr Morey said there is no concern that the club will run out of stamps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI literally have a bag containing probably 3 or 4 million stamps, so if you\u2019ve had some delivered and want some more, don\u2019t hesitate to ask,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

To have stamps mailed to you, simply post a self-addressed, stamped DL size envelope to Ballarat Stamp Club, PO Box 337, Wendouree, 3355<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
