Help pick the best COVID-themed design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VOTING has now opened for Interknit\u2019s Lockdown 2020 design a beanie competition.<\/p>\n<p>Five finalists have been shortlisted, showcasing a range of colourful, COVID-related proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Designs range from a microscopic look at the virus, a testament to hand washing, a hopeful mask-wearing beanie, a considerate \u2018stay safe\u2019 message and a computer game look at a molecular level.<\/p>\n<p>Company co-director Kassie Blaszak said to take careful consideration when voting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVote for what you would buy and what you would wear on your head,\u201d she said. \u201cBut also vote based on what you would want to see being worn around Ballarat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Around 30 beanie designs were submitted to the competition, leaving an impressive list of honourable mentions.<\/p>\n<p>These include a \u2018bogan beanie\u2019 sporting a stylish mullet due to hairdressers closing and an Anzac themed beanie commemorating a most unique day of remembrance.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Blaszak said the shortlisted finalists were judged based on their practicality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen selecting the top five designs, the decisions were based on how we would actually create that beanie,\u201d she said. \u201cSome designs were too complex for our machines or had some words that we weren\u2019t able to use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Voting for the best winter noggin warmer will run until Sunday, 17 May.<\/p>\n<p>To take part you can visit<a href=\"http:\/\/interknit.com.au\/competition\"><strong> interknit.com.au\/competition<\/strong><\/a> and fill out the online voting form, you can also call Interknit afterhours via <strong>5331 5533<\/strong> and leave a message with your selection or use the voting in the Thursday, 7 May edition of the <em>Ballarat Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The winning designer will receive a copy of their beanie, at $100 Interknit voucher, and get to direct 15 per cent
