AT the peak of lockdown, brothers Sam and Josh Bromley-Lynch found themselves missing their local caf\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

To remedy this, the pair took to Instagram and opened their own virtual coffee shop to enjoy with their friends.<\/p>\n

In just a matter of months, the Cov\u00e1d Caf\u00e9 has grown exponentially in size, reach and output.<\/p>\n

Although creating these 15-minute experiences can be time and energy consuming the pair agreed it was well worth it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a bit of an audience now, nearly 4000 people,\u201d Josh said. \u201cIt\u2019s created its own culture and community like an actual caf\u00e9 would.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve found it\u2019s so important, people are tuning into us for a good reason because they were missing that caf\u00e9 atmosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n

The page is the first of its kind to fill the void for human interaction and virtually bring people together to have a chat over a cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

\"\"Now more than ever, co-owner Sam said running the caf\u00e9 has not only been integral for them but for some of the customers too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to receive messages about how helpful it was to start people\u2019s days,\u201d Sam said. \u201cThat\u2019s what we do it for really.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs long as we\u2019re providing some sort of positive vice to people, that\u2019s what we\u2019re happy to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s live videos aim to provide a positive distraction for their audience from the stresses of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Keeping to a light-hearted tone, the programs heavily feature music, dancing, humour and debates about keeping chocolate in the fridge or pantry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best thing about it is we haven\u2019t mentioned COVID once, we don\u2019t really talk about what\u2019s going on,\u201d Josh said. \u201cAlthough we\u2019re absorbed by the caf\u00e9 we\u2019re aware that other people aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew mates and people close to us were struggling so we thought it would be a good way to still connect with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having already amassed a huge following on Instagram, they\u2019ve taken the opportunity reach out and host some home grown and high-profile talent.<\/p>\n

However, the pair agreed that they would have just about anyone on the live stream if they were comfortable to have a bit of fun and be themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want our guests to fit the mould of the caf\u00e9 which is good vibes, not taking themselves too seriously and chilled out,\u201d Josh said.<\/p>\n

\u201cKate Ceberano on this morning just knew what to do, Ryan Shelton was great and Hugh van Cuylenburg from The Resilience Project started us off and we thought we\u2019d never have a better guest than him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam added, \u201cThe dream guest would be Hamish Blake for sure. If you get Hamish you might get Andy too.\u201d<\/p>\n
