WITH thirty-five years\u2019 experience in the restaurant and catering industry, renowned chef Peter Ford is once again offering his signature ready-made meals to Ballarat residents.<\/p>\n

To be eaten in the comfort of your home, Peter Ford Catering is currently offering The Real Meal service which delivers pre-prepared restaurant quality meals for two to your door.<\/p>\n

The Real Meal initiative was born in 2008 when Ford said the company offered boxes of meals to clients and wholesale pre-made meals to retailers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe used to make the Peter Ford Catering home meals from hand in our kitchen in Ballarat and sell to major grocers and supermarkets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe stopped this in 2013 and then once COVID-19 came along and we thought let\u2019s re-introduce The Real Meal again and sell it online rather than wholesale.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really are just reinstating what we had before because we have the facilities, the technology, the recipes and the skill to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ballarat based catering company usually specialises in weddings and functions in across regional Victoria and recently pivoted to only offer the at-home dining delivery service.<\/p>\n

Ford said their ability to offer this service quickly and easily gave them a leg up in comparison to their competitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough many of our wait staff have taken quite a hit,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve be able to retain five staff over this time which we\u2019re very happy with.\u201d<\/p>\n

At a time when many venues around the state are closing completely or partially, eating a restaurant quality meal in the presence of friends and family is a luxury.<\/p>\n

Ford said it\u2019s so important we continue to get together over a meal and that this service takes the hard work out of doing so.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s an absolute convenience, we\u2019ve simplified it so that you only need an oven and a pot of water,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a complete meal that doesn\u2019t have to consumed straight away, they have a few days grace period or can be frozen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best thing is, there\u2019s no dishes or preparation to be done.\u201d<\/p>\n
