THIS week, Federation University welcomed its new vice-chancellor and president, Professor Duncan Bentley<\/a>, to the team.<\/p>\n

Resuming the role from Professor Helen Bartlett who served as vice-chancellor for three years, Professor Bentley strives to incorporate his background in design, digital innovation, community engagement and global partnerships to assist him in the new position.<\/p>\n

Formerly Swinburne University\u2019s deputy vice-chancellor and the deputy vice-chancellor at Victoria University, Professor Bentley\u2019s qualifications and experience for the role are significant.<\/p>\n

Aside from his professional work, his educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town, Master of Laws from the University of London, Master of Laws (Corporate & Commercial) and PhD from Bond University.<\/p>\n

Professor Bentley said he was optimistic about the prosperity of regional Australia and proud of Federation University\u2019s 150-year connection to its community.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am delighted to join the community of staff, students, alumni and partners at Federation University and look forward learning how the institution can help drive economic growth on the other side of the pandemic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
