TWO key Ballarat sporting locations are set for capital works improvements thanks to the City and a grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria<\/p>\n
At Victoria Park there\u2019ll be two new turf soccer pitches, a cricket pitch, subsurface drainage works, new turf and an automatic irrigation system.<\/p>\n
That project will be fully funded by the City of Ballarat as part of Recreation Services Capital program.<\/p>\n
The works at Alfredton Recreation Reserve are funded by the State Government\u2019s Sport and Recreation Victoria Country Football Netball Grant.<\/p>\n
They\u2019ll include the redevelopment of the Alfredton Village Green grass football oval, a new synthetic cricket wicket, new subsurface drainage, a new irrigation system and new turf.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Ben Taylor said the $2 million projects will improve the venues and facilities even further.<\/p>\n
\u201cBallarat is renowned for its sporting amenities and these new upgrades will further add to the strong sporting reputation of our region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can all look forward to the opening of these projects and welcome the opportunities it will provide for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison said that she was proud of the Victorian Government\u2019s support for the Alfredton project.<\/p>\n
