TALBOT Place is one of fifty aged care centres around the state set to receive funding for facility upgrades.<\/p>\n
Sharing in $30 million in funding, the aged care facility will receive $545,000 for capital works including kitchen, laundry and en-suite refurbishments and updates to the garden.<\/p>\n
Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison and Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle joined Ballarat Health Services executive director of aged operations Jodie Cranham to announce State Government grant.<\/p>\n
Ms Cranham said they were honoured and thankful for the funding as it will make a huge difference to both residents and staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really important to bring some joy back into the lives of our residents, it\u2019s been a tough year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re hoping to start the planning process straight away and then we\u2019ll work through the COVID-safe plans around bringing work men into the facility, it will be a staged process.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur ideal vision into the future is state of the art facilities for our aged care population and consolidating that across the Ballarat area.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now more than ever, Ms Addison said this investment in aged care in the Ballarat region is very welcome indeed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very proud of the high care provided by Ballarat Health Services in the aged care space,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis upgrade will mean that the quality of life and the care being able to be provided for residents at Talbot Place will be even better.\u201d<\/p>\n
