THANKS to a Victorian Government\u2019s grant, Commerce Ballarat and the city\u2019s business community will experience a significant funding boost to help get back on their feet post-pandemic.<\/p>\n
CEO of Commerce Ballarat Jodie Gillett said this year has not only been challenging for the business community, but it has tested the organisation itself.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur organisation expects to see a reduction in income from loss of membership fees and sponsorships into the future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis funding will allow us to broaden and extend the marketing of our businesses and deliver additional initiatives and development.\u201d<\/p>\n
This funding will allow Commerce Ballarat to extend and broaden their successful b2b Buy Local campaign, run a series of tender writing workshops and implement other initiatives that will drive local spend.<\/p>\n
Juliana Addison Member for Wendouree said the Victorian Government is proud to provide the $50,000 grant and support Commerce Ballarat.<\/p>\n
\u201cCommerce Ballarat has provided a pivotal leadership role supporting Ballarat businesses, large and small, throughout this pandemic by hosting webinars, sharing information and being a strong advocate to Government,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis funding will allow Commerce Ballarat to continue their great work and play a vital role in the recovery of our local economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle added, \u201cCommerce Ballarat are strong advocates for businesses in our community and this grant will help them keep up the work of speaking up and supporting our businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additionally, grant recipients can utilise the funding for initiatives including facilitating members\u2019 towards a COVID normal, buy local campaigns and improving access to services to allow for recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
